Sowing for Butterflies @ Blue Heron Nature Preserve

Does winter weather create dreams of spring flowers? Join Meredith Mays from the North American Butterfly Association for a winter sowing workshop. We will plant native seeds in recycled containers, and learn the steps for growing strong spring seedlings! Participants can bring their own containers to take home. After School Nature Art: French Painters @ Blue Heron Nature Preserve

Be outside after school! In the woods, wetlands and gardens of Blue Heron Nature Preserve, we’ll work with innovative drawing and painting techniques the French Masters used to capture nature. During these lengthening days, we’ll learn how to draw flowers, birds and other signs of spring approaching. We may even render a sunset or two as we experiment with techniques like pointillism and cubism while expressing our own voices through painting.
